Today instead of hitting this edition from the teaching angle I want to take this opportunity to show all of you a couple of things that I have recently come across. I just feel that it is my obligation to share the things that I find that can be of some value to all of you. Am I going to make money from it ??? OF COURSE I AM !!! But, that’s the whole point !!! The really cool thing about it is that you can join for FREE, there are NEVER any upgrades or fees and you make money simply by logging on a certain number of times a month. The way this works is simple. They sell advertising on the site. The advertisers want there ads SEEN so they want visitors to the site. By becoming a member and logging in plus referring others to do the same thing you are GUARANTEEING the advertisers that their ads are being seen. The next thing I want to share with you is a site that has compiled a MASSIVE listing of FREEBIES !!! You know what I mean, like when a company gives away free samples of there product to get you to try it and hopefully become a customer. I know you’ve seen the ads where Purina will send you a 4 lb bag of dog food for free just for the asking. Well, this company has taken it to the next level. Not only can you get access to LITERALLY thousands of FREE GOODIES for a monthly member ship fee of only $10 but they have incorporated a revenue sharing program so that you can make a passive income in the process. My very first day after paying my $10 I was able to download and print a coupon that paid me $25 just to go test drive a brand new Ford Mustang Saleen !!! That one item alone caused me to break even on the monthly fee and cleared me a $15 profit !!! Additionally, this company is set up as a 5 x 7 forced matrix and pays you $1 a month for EVERY active member in your group in addition to the percentage of revenue you will receive every month. Now, for the REALLY great news !!! My group and I are advocates of PAY IT FORWARD. It has been my experience that the problem with people and the opportunities in their Life is NOT that they don’t have any come their way but rather two things; First, they don’t recognize them and second, they are fearful of them when they do. This fear has a DEVASTATING on their ability to act on them and often eliminates the opportunity completely !!!
Since not recognizing an Opportunity seems to be the first problem, let’s first look at the definition of an Opportunity:
1. an appropriate or favorable time or occasion: Their meeting afforded an opportunity to exchange views.
2. a situation or condition favorable for attainment of a goal.
3. a good position, chance, or prospect, as for advancement or success.
Ok, now that we have that out of the way let’s cover the worst of the two problems; Fear to pursue the opportunity. I was reading an article online today and it was talking about some very unlikely success stories but success stories all the same. The reason that they were deemed unlikely was that they were so NOT OBVIOUS in their very nature that the average person would probably have never put enough faith in the idea OR themselves to pursue them and, consequently, we as a People would have never had the benefit of what they had stumbled across.
I had two particular favorites out of the bunch. The first one was two very unassuming college kids by the name of Josh Abramson and Ricky Van Veen. They came up with the idea of setting up a website to trade jokes back and forth while they attended different colleges. While this may not seem like an Opportunity to you, they put a little faith in themselves, went with their heart despite the ridicule of their friends and now have a thriving website that boasts over 8 MILLION Unique Visitor a month !!! My other favorite will be much more relatable to most of you. Richard and Betty James, a Navy tool worker and homemaker, saw a collective LIGHT BULB go off in their heads when they witnessed the simple act of a coil spring falling off a table. I wonder how many of you already know how their lives changed after that. Can you say, “250 Million Slinkys sold !!!” ??? I wonder how many people told them that they were crazy, that it was a stupid idea, that they were wasting their time and effort, etc. ?
What I’m getting at here is that you could be FLOODED with Opportunities in your Life but if you don’t have the foresight and vision to recognize them and the Fearlessness to GO FOR IT then the chances are that those Opportunities are going to pass you by !!! Stay alert, be open and be willing to step outside that comfort zone and take some REASONABLE risks to make your dreams com true. Look where THEY are now because they did…..

Wow, It’s great to be back talking with all of you !!! It seems like forever since we had this time together. But, all things happen for a reason and I must admit that the last few weeks have been very transformational for me. Many things have been completed and many new projects have hit the table. All that having been said, I’ve missed all of you and it’s great to be back at the keyboard. I would like to welcome back all my long time readers and welcome home all my new readers. Every day I work with people helping them to build their online business and many of these people are just committing to an online business for the first time in their entire lives. Consequently, many of them have come into their respective businesses with a lot of misconceptions and bad information. Because of this, they often times have a skewed view of what they can do and how they can do it on the internet. They are often times disillusioned about how easy or hard their business is going to be and what they can expect in the way of success. Now, some of you are already in business for yourself on the internet and will have first hand experience at what I’m going to go over but many of you are either just starting an online business or possibly still in the deciding stage. The following segment is geared primarily toward you folks but I may possibly also generate a WAKE UP CALL for a few others. The following paragraphs are going to be Advantages/Disadvantages of an internet business.
1. LOTS OF OPPORTUNITY: The Internet reaches a World-Wide audience with a wide variety of interests. There are countless niches on which you can focus your vision.
HARD WORK AND LONG HOURS: Building a successful business, whether online or offline, requires a great deal of effort. Patience, persistence and determination are all essential qualities.
2. IT’S EXCITING !!!: If you love change and unpredictability, not to mention a good challenge, the internet is one of the best places to be.
ALWAYS CHANGING: What works online today just might not work tomorrow. You need the ability to adapt to changes, keep up with the times and move forward.
3. THE INTERNET IS EVER GROWING: Every day more and more people are getting connected to the internet. As time goes by, people are getting increasingly comfortable with making their purchases on the internet as well. That’s definitely a big a plus for you as an online merchant.
WAY TOO MUCH HYPE !!!: You are going to find many misleading promises and outright bad information on the internet that will try to sell you on the idea that there really are so-called “MAGIC BULLETS or SECRETS” to making money on the internet. There isn’t. Only many long hours of trying different marketing techniques to see which ones work for YOU will make sales for you.
4. THE POSSIBILITY OF LESS TIME FOR MONEY: Some kinds of online businesses can be automated to a certain extent so automation, later after you are up and running, can usually give you a much more unrestrictive lifestyle.
NOT THE PATH TO EASY RICHES: Contrary to what you may have heard or read, the internet is NOT the path to quick, easy money and many people DO go broke in that pursuit. There is no guarantee of success with an online business any more than there is with a regular business.
5. ONLINE TESTING, RESEARCH AND MARKETING IS RELATIVELY CHEAP: There is so much you can do on the internet with little or no money. You just have to spend a little time looking around to find it but it will be time well spent when you factor in how much you saved by finding it.
“IF YOU BUILD IT THEY WILL COME” - MYTH: Your web page is going to be one out of literally BILLIONS of other sites out there, many with content about the same thing as yours is about. You have to learn how to not only get people to you site but how to get the RIGHT people to your site, while in competition with all the other sites of similar content.
6. FLEXIBILITY: Since you are working from home and on your computer you get to call the shots. You work when you want, how you want and only IF you want !!!
BEING PERSISTENT IS THE ONLY WAY YOU WILL PREVAIL: There is tremendous amounts you will need to learn in order to be successful online. It’s very easy to give up and start jumping from one online business to the next looking for that PERFECT one. But, if you keep starting over you will NEVER be successful or make any money online.
Now, I could drone on and on if I wanted to but, in addition to making some very valid SPECIFIC points, I also wanted to make the general point that there is MUCH to be considered when you are making the decision to be or not to be an online marketer as well as the decision as to whether to continue being one or not. I hope this has served to give you a little more insight into the world of Online Entrepreneurship !!!

Let me ask you something. When was the last time you were young again ??? Yes, you read that right. When was the last time that you rewound the tape and remembered what life was like before it got so complicated ??? You know, the hustle and bustle of day to day life, the job or business, the endless stream of errands on your day off, the Parent/Teacher conferences, the never-ending TO DO list around the house….. I think you get the picture.
Try this little eye opening experiment. Now, some of you are going to far better than others at this and if you are I applaud you. As for the rest of you, PUT ON YOUR SEATBELT !!! I want you to close your eyes and go through an entire week in your mind. In order for this to work you need to really be detail oriented. Start on Monday morning from the time you get up in the morning until you go to bed at night. Repeat this process for the remainder of the week and then go through your average weekend. As you are going through this process I want you to do one other thing. Every time one of the items has anything to do with Joy, Happiness, Playfulness, Silliness, Pretending, Imagining or just being plain CARE FREE I want you to make a note of that item. Are some of you getting worried already ???
As always, there is a method to my madness here. Look at your week and see how many times you were in one of those categories. Did it scare you ??? You see, at some point in everyone’s Life for some unexplainable reason our efforts at responsibility, productivity and all around Success cause us to become “OLD” !!!!! Now, allow me to explain something here. There are two types of old. Those two types are your body and your heart. We won’t cover the body here today.
It’s a strange process, this “old age of the heart”. Nobody sees it coming and nobody seems to try to do anything about it after it arrives. It’s like it’s an accepted part of being grown up. I, myself, have had to do battle with this very formidable enemy. It’s no easy battle but it IS a battle you can win !!! You see, being successful and responsible doesn’t have to take the joy and fun out of Life. It doesn’t have to make you OLD !!! Each should compliment the other, both sides being a necessary component of the Life equation.
I spend a lot of time at the park walking, listening to good motivational audios and working on materials for my projects. Sometimes I’ll just sit there and pick out a child or a young teenage couple and just watch them for a while. As I watch, I go back in my mind to a time that I was their age and relive all those fond moments THROUGH them. It’s a very POWERFUL experience. I always leave feeling happy and refreshed. Try it sometime. You’ll be AMAZED !!!
Folks, Life is meant to be a BLAST, not a drudgery. We can’t stop the hands of time in a general sense but we CAN prevent them from choking us around the neck !!! However, we CAN turn back the hands of time in our hearts and make Life FUN again. Reclaim your youth, denounce the “old age of the heart” mentality and live Life like the Adventure that it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In recent months, in my constant search for lucrative businesses, I came across the COOLEST thing… It is a program offered by SFI Marketing called Eye Earn. The concept is really quite simple. Many of the most well known businesses around (Wal-Mart, Ticket Master, Radio Shack, et.) are all part of an Online Mall. Every month when people shop at this mall, if they got there through the Eye Earn portal then a portion of their purchase is placed in a pool. Since I am a member, I get a portion of that monthly pool. And what do I do to earn that ??? Simple, all I do is drive around with a decal on my vehicle advertising the website. In recent years Banner Advertising has been given a Black Eye by the newest forms of advertising such as Blogging and Pod Casting. But, the truth is that banner advertising is still a HIGHLY EFFECTIVE form of advertising. The only problem it has EVER had is that people generally don’t know how to use it effectively and, therefore, have lost faith in it. Banner advertising is just like your favorite recipe. You might like the taste of someone else’s but if you don’t prepare it properly you’re not going to like YOUR OWN !!!
Ok, you've purchased graphics software and you're all set to design banner ads for your upcoming campaign. Now, obviously creative, attention-grabbing ads will help you get the absolute best results. The way you combine words, colors, graphics and animation are critical to your success.
In order to get started, you need to define your goals for the ad campaign you intend to run. Ask yourself the following questions:
What do I intend to accomplish with this ad campaign?
AND…
What action do I want online users to take when they see my ad?
Once you have done this its time to begin developing your advertising message. Since banner ads use both graphics and text, it is important to consider both elements. With that in mind, here are 10 tips to help you create an effective banner ad…
1. Study the best examples online - When designing a creative piece like a banner ad, start by identifying the best banner ads that you have seen. The easiest way to do this is to visit any major portals such as MSN, YAHOO, etc. and look at the different banner ads. Try to identify at least three banner ads that catch your attention and your interest. What, if anything, do these ads have in common? This will help you understand what techniques are effective, as well as what design style appeals to you.
2. Be clear in your graphics and messaging - Your main objective is to have people take a particular action after viewing your ad. A strong, clear message will help you to capture their interest. Clear communication requires that you understand your message, what you are selling and the benefit that you are offering potential customers.
3. Control the file size - How many times have you had to wait on a banner ad before you could view a website? To minimize lost prospects due to delay frustration, you need to limit the file size of your ad. As a general rule a 468 x 60 pixel banner should be 12 kilobytes or less. Another easy way to achieve this is to limit the number of colors you use and save your banner as an animated GIF file.
4. Say it in seven words or less - This is especially important for a banner campaign, where you are limited to a small visual space. Using fewer words means that you can make the font size bigger, which increases the impact of your message.
5. Use power words - These are single words that immediately communicate a benefit. "Free," "unbelievable," "incredible," "affordable," "heartwarming". Get together with other friends and business associates to help create a list of words that are perfect for your campaign.
6. Select images carefully - Adding visuals is like cooking with spices. Too few will lead to a bland banner, while too many will destroy the desired effect. If you want to add a graphic that will really grab their attention, use a drawing or chart with a limited number of colors to accomplish this while limiting the file size.
7. Use contrast to capture attention - Your ad will likely include these elements: background colors, a bold text message, a photograph or drawing and animation. To be effective you need to have contrast between these elements. Contrast can be achieved using different font sizes and bolds and colors.
8. Limit your use of fonts - When designing your ad, try to use no more than two fonts. If you do use two or more fonts be sure to select fonts from different categories. There are three main font categories: serif (which have tiny "feet" on the letters), sans serif (with no decorative "feet") and decorative (which include highly decorative and script or handwritten fonts).
9. Don't overdo it with animation - If you plan to use animation in your ad, there are a few things to consider. You want the animation to attract their attention without offending them. When setting the animation speed, look for something that changes at a slow to moderate pace. It helps to set your animations so that they stop after three cycles; In fact, some sites may insist on this.
10. Less really is more - As you create your design, remember that less cluttered messages will make a stronger impact with the online viewer. Limit the number of elements (colors, fonts, graphics and words) that you use in your ad and ask yourself , “Did I convey my Primary Message EFFECTIVELY ???”
As always, the key to these tips being helpful for you is IMPLEMENTATION !!! I can only OFFER them. It is up to you to put them into play in your particular Banner Advertising campaign. It’s like anything else in the business world; if you want to be Successful then you must do what Successful people do.

As most of you know if you have read my newsletter for any amount of time, I’m a fairly outspoken person. I feel that by suppressing your thoughts and speech that you rob others of the opportunity to examine their own opinions by means of an assortment of points of reference. That having been said and it being Mothers Day, I felt led to express myself on a subject of many varied opinions; the subject of Holiday Commercialization. There is a lot of debate about this but I think that it’s all about boundaries…
The following is an excerpt from an article by Jani Meyer -
“It seemed like a good idea at the time, but even the "mother" of Mother's Day was disappointed at the commercialization of the event and ended up getting arrested after protesting at a Mother's Day festival.
American Anna Jarvis, who made it her life's mission to have an official day honoring mothers proclaimed, confessed before her death in 1948 that she regretted having ever having started the Mother's Day tradition.” -
Let’s face it, EVERYTHING is commercialized in one fashion or another. For example; Let’s take a look at weddings and receptions. This is a time of celebration in recognition of the beginning of a long and happy journey together through Life. Commercialization is apparent in several areas here. First, you have the limo services. Then there are the expensive dresses and tux rentals. And , let’s not forget about those outrageously expensive photo sessions. All of these vendors are raking in the cash on this one event alone. But, is there anything wrong with that? Of course not !!! They provide a valuable product or service to a willing customer. So, when IS commercialization a bad thing???
It is my opinion that the only time commercialization of a holiday is wrong is when the actual meaning of the holiday is completely lost and is replaced by some story line or irrelevant celebration that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the real holiday. If the businesses and the vendors cater to the holiday rather than CREATING the scenario to match their product or service then that is just good business. BUT… There are some obvious examples of how that is not always the case !!! The following example, in my opinion, makes the point most clearly and is THE MOST OUTRAGEOUS form of Commercial INSANTITY that anyone could come up with…….
EASTER - Easter is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Now, follow along with me here people. This gets a little tricky !!! My Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was crucified, placed in tomb and, on the third day, rose from the dead. Now, quite obviously, the most effective way to celebrate this event and keep the true meaning INTACT is to celebrate it with a SIX FOOT RABBIT THAT WEARS PEOPLES CLOTHES AND DELIVERS COLORED CHICKEN EGGS !!!!!!! NOT EVEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do I REALLY need to say anything else ???
Folks, in my opinion (and you are certainly entitled to yours) there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being a good businessman/woman and capitalizing on a situation that you have something of value to offer to. It’s when that line between what the holiday is really all about and what is the most profitable is crossed that the commercialization of holiday’s is COMPLETELY WRONG !!! Some of you may have noticed that I draw a lot of my inspiration for my writing from day to day life. If you let it, Life will teach you many wonderful things. I think it is designed that way. What ever the case, it has always been a great teacher for me and I hope that it always will be. No lesson will stick with you longer than one that you taught yourself through experience and inspiration.
My most recent experience took place just this past week while putting some new office furniture together. Now, that might not sound like much of a setting for some major inspiration but Life doesn’t try to impress you with it’s methods while it teaches. It just teaches. The circumstances are irrelevant. What is important is that the lesson is learned and the point made.
I had just completed the basic assembly of the frame of my new computer desk when I noticed that it seemed unstable and wobbly. I began to go back and check all the points of assembly. I checked the screws to make sure they were tight. I checked the proper placement of all the pieces. I even checked to make sure that I hadn’t inadvertently left a piece out. Nope, everything tight, present and accounted for. Well, needless to say that I was quick to jump to conclusions and tell myself that I must have purchased an inferior product.
So, after beating myself up for not buying a higher quality in office furniture, I decided to continue with the assembly. Page after page of instructions and piece after piece of the desk, I slowly made my way through the process; another brace here, another bracket there. But, to my amazement, something wonderful was happening. The more pieces of the desk I put in place, the more stable and strong it became. I continued on and before you know it I had completed my project. I stood back, looked at my work, gave it a firm shake and smiled. You see, after FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS I was given and PUTTING ALL THE PIECES IN PLACE, what I had imagined to be less than I thought it should be turned into a rock solid structure !!!
If you’re wondering where I’m going with this, I’m getting to that right now. Many of you start businesses and at first you don’t think they are going to be all they are cracked up to be. You doubt them before you even put all the pieces in place. Also, many of you completely leave out a lot of very important pieces. And to make things even worse, many of you throw away the instructions and build it YOUR WAY.
Let me tell you something folks. When you go into a business, if you want to make the money that the Top Money Earners are making then you have to do what they are doing. There is a system in place with many different things comprising it. You can’t leave out several of those pieces and expect to get the same results as the Big Dogs in the company. And then there is the issue of the instructions. You have to be Teachable, Trainable and Coachable. You can’t re-invent the wheel in your respective business and expect it to happen like it does for those that DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD !!! So, just remember this; when it comes to your business, ALWAYS use all the PIECES and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS of your Company Leaders !!! Trust me… THAT’S HOW THEY GOT THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have really had a lot of inspirational things cross my path lately and I wanted to share this one with you. As you read it, think about the lesson it teaches. Many times in Life it may seem that things are being unnecessarily difficult or unfair. Sometimes it may seem that you are being punished for something you didn’t do. But, the truth is, that you have to be taken out of your comfort zone in order to grow. You have to deal with certain aspects of Life in an often uncomfortable environment in order to learn how to do deal with it better and more effectively next time. It’s the same in your business when you think your company leaders are pushing you too hard. You must learn to tell the difference between a Bad Experience and a Growing Experience !!!

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. She didn't mention anything about the reason for her interest beyond her curiosity about the process of refining Silver.
As she watched the silversmith, he held a piece of silver over the fire and let it heat up. You see folks, just as God is refining us to take us one step closer to being in his likeness, your leaders are trying to do the same thing. They want you to do well. They want you to prosper. They want you to reach the same heights of achievement that they have. But, they also know that if you are not forced to function outside of your comfort zone that you will NEVER GROW and NEVER ACHIEVE what they have achieved. Some of you may have noticed that I draw a lot of my inspiration for my writing from day to day life. If you let it, Life will teach you many wonderful things. I think it is designed that way. What ever the case, it has always been a great teacher for me and I hope that it always will be. No lesson will stick with you longer than one that you taught yourself through experience and inspiration.
My most recent experience took place just this past week while putting some new office furniture together. Now, that might not sound like much of a setting for some major inspiration but Life doesn’t try to impress you with it’s methods while it teaches. It just teaches. The circumstances are irrelevant. What is important is that the lesson is learned and the point made.
I had just completed the basic assembly of the frame of my new computer desk when I noticed that it seemed unstable and wobbly. I began to go back and check all the points of assembly. I checked the screws to make sure they were tight. I checked the proper placement of all the pieces. I even checked to make sure that I hadn’t inadvertently left a piece out. Nope, everything tight, present and accounted for. Well, needless to say that I was quick to jump to conclusions and tell myself that I must have purchased an inferior product.
So, after beating myself up for not buying a higher quality in office furniture, I decided to continue with the assembly. Page after page of instructions and piece after piece of the desk, I slowly made my way through the process; another brace here, another bracket there. But, to my amazement, something wonderful was happening. The more pieces of the desk I put in place, the more stable and strong it became. I continued on and before you know it I had completed my project. I stood back, looked at my work, gave it a firm shake and smiled. You see, after FOLLOWING THE INSTRUCTIONS I was given and PUTTING ALL THE PIECES IN PLACE, what I had imagined to be less than I thought it should be turned into a rock solid structure !!!
If you’re wondering where I’m going with this, I’m getting to that right now. Many of you start businesses and at first you don’t think they are going to be all they are cracked up to be. You doubt them before you even put all the pieces in place. Also, many of you completely leave out a lot of very important pieces. And to make things even worse, many of you throw away the instructions and build it YOUR WAY.
Let me tell you something folks. When you go into a business, if you want to make the money that the Top Money Earners are making then you have to do what they are doing. There is a system in place with many different things comprising it. You can’t leave out several of those pieces and expect to get the same results as the Big Dogs in the company. And then there is the issue of the instructions. You have to be Teachable, Trainable and Coachable. You can’t re-invent the wheel in your respective business and expect it to happen like it does for those that DO WHAT THEY ARE TOLD !!! So, just remember this; when it comes to your business, ALWAYS use all the PIECES and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS of your Company Leaders !!! Trust me… THAT’S HOW THEY GOT THERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have really had a lot of inspirational things cross my path lately and I wanted to share this one with you. As you read it, think about the lesson it teaches. Many times in Life it may seem that things are being unnecessarily difficult or unfair. Sometimes it may seem that you are being punished for something you didn’t do. But, the truth is, that you have to be taken out of your comfort zone in order to grow. You have to deal with certain aspects of Life in an often uncomfortable environment in order to learn how to do deal with it better and more effectively next time. It’s the same in your business when you think your company leaders are pushing you too hard. You must learn to tell the difference between a Bad Experience and a Growing Experience !!!

Malachi 3:3 says: "He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver."
This verse puzzled some women in a Bible study and they wondered what this statement meant about the character and nature of God. One of the women offered to find out the process of refining silver and get back to the group at their next Bible Study. That week, the woman called a silversmith and made an appointment to watch him at work. Have you ever noticed that when most people promote their business it’s always just MONEY, MONEY, MONEY !!!??? Well, I’m proud to say that I’m a part of a Very Special organization that is about SO MUCH MORE than money !!! I am a part of a wonderful company that has become not only an excellent source of income for me but has allowed me to grow in ways that a few years ago I would not have believed was possible. But, more than that, the awesome people that make up Success University have become like family to me and many of them I have come to know as my FRIEND. People, you can’t put a price on that. You really can’t. Money is great but there are SO many things in Life that make it pale in comparison. Are you WORKING WITH a company or are you A PART OF a company ??? I was listening to a CD by Success University’s VP of Sales and Marketing yesterday on the Distinctions of Leadership. I am constantly working toward being the best leader that I can be but none of us will ever reach the point that there is no room for improvement. For that reason, we must always envision ourselves at a point that is COMPLETELY outside our grasp !!! I know what you’re thinking so let me explain.
I have learned through the teachings of all the greats that I study that many people confuse Goals with Visions. A goal is something that has particular details, an expected result and a pre-determined time of completion. A vision is HOW YOU SEE YOURSELF or how you see a particular set of circumstances in the future. Do you see the difference? Therefore, if you are constantly setting and achieving goals as to your leadership abilities you are going to be constantly Starting and Stopping. You don’t want that. You want a constant, even flow toward that Ultimate level of Leadership.
The other thing is that you want to make sure that a Leader is really what you are becoming. What I mean is that you need to make sure that you are becoming a Leader and NOT a Dictator !!! Let’s look at the difference by seeing what Webster has to say about the two…
LEADERSHIP:
Lead- :to guide on a way especially by going in advance :to direct on a course or in a direction :to serve as a channel for
DICTATOR:
Dictator- :one holding complete or autocratic control :one ruling absolutely and often oppressively
Dictate- :a command by one in authority
Now, sit back and think about the way you run your business. Hey, we’re all human and susceptible to veering off course without even realizing it. Sometimes your own enthusiasm can overtake you. You get this “I know what’s best for them and they need to go do it” mentality. When, in fact, you need to be out in front doing it too or at least be willing to. LEAD BY EXAMPLE !!!!!
When I was in basic training in the Army there was one rule that the Drill Sergeants had about training us. They would NEVER, EVER ask any of us to do ANYTHING that they Couldn’t or Wouldn’t do themselves. Most of the time they would demo what they expected out of us and other times you were just told to but you had the option of saying, “Hey, if it’s so easy let me see YOU do it!!!“ Now, you had to be careful if you called them on it because if you did and they followed through then you had to do it TWICE !!! But, the point is that while they seemed harsh in their ways they were, in fact, TRUE LEADERS and I’ve always had the utmost respect for them for that very reason.
People, Great Leaders CREATE Great Leaders !!! If you want to have a successful business and be a business owner and not a babysitter then you have to get in there and show them what to do. You can’t just sit back and bark orders. If they see you that way they will never respect you and will usually prefer to do things their way. BUT if you show them that, not only do you know what to do, but you are also willing AND able to do it YOURSELF then, in all likelihood, they will look at you and say, “If he/she can do it SO CAN I !!!

I have to tell you something everyone. Sometimes Life brings about changes in you that you didn’t ask for but rather that you needed. Sometimes, in all your INFINITE WISDOM, you think you are on track and really you are blinded by your own self confidence. But, the Universe is a loving and caring parent. It will ALWAYS pick you up, turn you in the right direction and gently set you down again. It will always make sure that whatever gift you’ve been given to help others is used properly and efficiently. It plays this role in my Life everyday to help me along. Be open to those changes. They are all a part of a Greater Good that your Life is headed toward.
I love helping people and try to be the best that I can at what I do but the things that I teach and the wisdom that I try to pass along to whomever I can doesn’t come from me. I am but a conduit by which that teaching and wisdom flows. Have you ever heard that old saying, “Who motivates the motivator?” The motivator is simply passing along what he or she has been given. And so when the Universe puts something in front of me and gives me that intuitive nudge it is my responsibility to pass that along to you.
Well, it put something in front of me today and I don’t think it will require ANY explanation from me. It tells it’s own story. The first time I read it I was in tears the whole time. I hope that it touches each and every one of you as much as it touched me. Open your heart and take in this most valuable story that the Universe gave me today and led me to give to all of you…….

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, "Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you can!", and she gave me a giant squeeze.
"Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked. She jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids..." "No seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age. "I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!" she told me. After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk non-stop. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up. At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."
As we laughed, she cleared her throat and began, " We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."
She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose." She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.
One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up. At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."
As we laughed, she cleared her throat and began, " We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."
She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose." She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.
One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

Often times you hear me refer to the Law of Attraction in my newsletters. It occurred to me that there are a lot of people that don’t really know what it is or understand how it works. It also occurred to me that telling some people to watch THE SECRET to learn about it is like telling someone that is NOT a sci-fi fan to go watch Star Wars. It’s probably not going to happen. So, with that in mind, I decided to do a very short and concise explanation to at least plant the seed in those of you that are not up to speed on it.
The encyclopedia definition is: The Law of Attraction takes the principal "Like Attracts Like" and applies it to conscious desire. That is, a person’s thoughts (conscious and unconscious), emotions, and beliefs cause a change in the physical world that attracts positive or negative experiences that correspond to the aforementioned thoughts, with or without the person taking action to attain such experiences. This process has been described as "harmonious vibrations of the law of attraction" or "you get what you think about; your thoughts determine your experience".
Allow me to break this down for you. Let’s go from largest to smallest and envision our World: Universe, Galaxies, Solar Systems, Planets, Humans, Organs, Tissues, Molecules, Atoms, and…….. ENERGY !!! No matter Who you call God, you cannot escape that what I have just described is accurate. Whether you are a Christian, Agnostic or just a plain old Scientist that believes anything and everything as long as it can be PROVEN, you simply must accept that statement as accurate. Your religious preferences change nothing about the known composition of the various aspects of the Universe.
We live in a physical World and so the Laws of Physics MUST hold true. The entire Universe is one big Energy Field. You, while you APPEAR to be solid, are in fact a smaller Energy Field existing in the larger one. If you could put your hand under an electron microscope you would just see a mass of vibrating Energy and all things vibrate at a specific frequency.
Ok, now take your thoughts and apply them to this principle. In case you didn’t know it, your thoughts have specific frequencies too. You can measure a thought. In the medical world today you can be placed on a machine with electrodes attached to your head and as your thoughts change so will the readout on the machine. Therefore, anytime you have a conscious OR unconscious thought you are putting out a frequency that has a direct impact on the surrounding Energy fields.
Now, some people don’t believe in the Law of Attraction. They think it is some sort of sacrilegious voo doo or something. This couldn’t be further from the truth. I grew up in a Christian home and my Grandfather was a Methodist Minister for years. If anything, the Law of Attraction actually SUPPORTS my pre-existing religious beliefs. We practice our religion in our hearts and Spirits but we live in a Physical World. This Physical explanation serves to give a deeper understanding of Biblical concepts such as prayer. Just like in my Bible where it tells me that whatever I ask for in Prayer I’ll receive. My God placed me in a Physical World to live so it only makes sense to me that the answers to my Prayers would have a Physical origin.
Well, that’s at least a good start for you to grasp the concept of the Law of Attraction. I live my life by it everyday and it has served me well. It is a wonderful and very effective tool that my Creator has given me to make my Life what I want it to be. I HIGHLY recommend it !!! And I also HIGHLY recommend that you take the time to watch the movie THE SECRET. You can watch it directly from the website for just about $5. That way you don’t even have to buy it. I want to talk briefly about Risk Taking. A great speaker and very wise man by the name of Les Brown said, “Jump and grow your wings on the way down !!!”. Do you know what that reminds me of? Do any of you know how a Mother Eagle teaches her babies to fly? She throws them out of the nest !!! That’s right. She tosses them out from the nest that is hanging off the side of a mountain at incredible altitudes and it is then that they spread their tiny wings and take flight for the first time.
People, I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve been talking to someone about my business and one of the main reasons I get for them not joining my company is they don’t want to RISK FAILING !!! Are you kidding me ??? Ok, let’s look at the percentages here; Join my business and fail, 50%, don’t join my business and fail, 100%. I mean really, what has happened to the Spirit of this country?
If we had this NO RISK taking mentality a hundred years ago where would we be now? We wouldn’t have airplanes if the Wright Brothers were afraid of taking a risk. We wouldn’t have telephones if Alexander Graham Bell wasn’t a risk taker. We wouldn’t have light bulbs if Thomas Edison had said, “But, what if it doesn’t work ???”. The very Entrepreneurial Spirit that CREATED this country is slowly leaking out the bottom. I don’t know about you but I find that very disconcerting.
We need to get fired up about Life again !!! We all have something inside us that makes us GO TAKE what we want instead of waiting for someone else to bring it to us. We need to reach way down deep inside ourselves and pull that part of ourselves back to the surface. It’s there in all of us, waiting for us to take charge of our Lives again and MAKE THINGS HAPPEN !!! Did you know that the average Entrepreneur goes through roughly SEVENTEEN DIFFERENT BUSINESSES and are bankrupt an average of SEVEN times before they finally OBTAIN and MAINTAIN wealth ?!? That kind of puts a little perspective on why 1% of the World is wealthy and the other 99% are standing there scratching their heads. Which percentage are YOU going to be in ???…………….

You have probably noticed lately that I’ve been leaning a little bit in the direction of the Techy Dept. with portions of my newsletters. There is a reason for that. That reason is that it doesn’t matter how awesome your business is or how great you are at it, if you don’t have a good working concept of your TOOLS OF THE TRADE then you are holding yourself back from the levels of success that you could otherwise be attaining.
Back when I first started this newsletter I told everyone that if anybody had any particular issues they needed help with or specific subjects they wanted me to cover all they had to do was e-mail me. Well, guess what ? Nobody did !!! BUT, during the course of an average day performing my duties as the Director of Support for my Success University Team at least 25% of the questions and/or concerns that I deal with are of a technical nature. I don’t know if it’s an embarrassment issue or what the problem is but, for some unexplained reason, people would evidently rather go it alone than to break down and ask questions. Now, I’m onboard with the concept that Trial and Error is a good way to teach yourself something because you learn from your mistakes but I will GUARANTEE you this !!! Your website, your email, or anything else having to do with the internet and/or your computer is the WRONG PLACE to practice Trial and Error !!!!!!
That having been said, here is what I would like to do. I would like to start a QUESTION OF THE WEEK program. Quite simply, I would like all of you to e-mail me with any and every question you have about your computer, your website, your equipment in general or anything else having to do with this category. Then I can go through them and every week I can share the question (anonymously of course !!!) and the answer with all the other readers. It will be a good way of getting some quality information out to all of you and helping you to get to that next level of Success that much sooner.
One other area of this subject that seems to jam some people up is Terminology. Lets face it, some of the names that they have for some of this stuff even has me looking up a word or phrase here and there !!! Have you ever taken a sticker off of something like maybe a bumper sticker from your car and even though you had removed the sticker that Goo Residue was left behind? Did you leave that residue there or did you get some cleaner and remove it? Well, you just hang onto that thought because it is going to be the point of reference for something that I want to talk to you about today. I have spent a lot of time thinking about the process of going from being a Negative person to being a Positive person and have come to certain conclusions pertaining to the relationship between that transition and the end result.
First, we must agree that there are various levels of Negativity and I am going to list them here as I see them:
1) First, we have COMPLETE NEGATIVITY. This level of Negativity is the most severe and the hardest to transition from. This is the classic “The World is out to get me”, “The little man can’t get ahead”, etc. scenario. Most often it stems from growing up in a Negative environment and basically being taught this way of thinking based on day to day exposure to it. On average, this is not going to be someone you want to have a business relationship with.
2) Next, we have what I call POSI-NEGATIVITY. This form is still severe but is much less detrimental to your day to day life. This is the type of person that you can eventually talk into taking a half-hearted whack at your business but they will ASSURE you from day one that they are not going to like it or do well at it.
3) Now, we have what I call NEGA-POSITIVITY. This is Negativity in it’s gentlest form but still strong enough that it is a HUGE stumbling block in the lives of people that suffer through it. This would be the otherwise Positive person that always harbors a small to moderate amount of fear and/or doubt. They would be the type of person who would leave to go to the amusement park with a forecast of sunny skies and STILL take an umbrella because “With my luck, just as sure as I don’t take it we will get rain !!!” They will embrace your business with open arms but will always hold themselves back due to having this level of Negativity in their lives.
Alright, now suppose that a person from any of these categories decided to make a change in their life. The only way to make this change is to peel away the layers of Negativity. Depending on which category this person falls into, this could be a moderate to difficult task but let’s assume that they finally accomplish this. The problem is that some people stop right there. They have good intentions by deciding to make the change in their mindset and starting a new life full of CORRECT THINKING and they are really serious about this change. But, at this point this is all just a concept to them. They have not educated themselves in this area and have not laid the foundation for this new life.
This is where Personal Development comes in. ACTION without EDUCATION is fruitless and EDUCATION without ACTION is worthless. You must marry the two together. If you just decide to become a Positive person and don’t educate yourself in the various areas of Personal Development to help strengthen your core then you are going to have great difficulty staying the course !!!
Now, think back to my example in the beginning. You have peeled away the bumper stickers of Negativity in your Life but if you don’t take the time to go back and clean off that Goo Residue through Personal Development then you will always carry a certain amount of that "Old You" with you. That is going to hinder you in everything you do from your Business Life to your Personal Life. So, when you make that commitment to peel away those layers of Negativity let Personal Development be your Goo Cleaner. Be sure to FOLLOW UP with a good CLEAN UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My, my, how the time does fly. That’s right, it’s about time for me to call it a night. I have a HOT DATE with a HOT BATH !!! I’m going to relax and visualize the upcoming week. This will put the Law of Attraction to work to put the necessary wheels in motion to bring me my World as I see it. It’s all right there for the taking everybody. Like my favorite ad slogan says, “Just DO IT !!!” and like my favorite Jedi Knight says, "There is no TRY, only DO !!!" LOL Hey, it may be Hollywood but it's the TRUTH. Until the Good Lord sees fit to let us have this time together again, just remember to always.......

You have probably noticed lately that I’ve been leaning a little bit in the direction of the Techy Dept. with portions of my newsletters. There is a reason for that. That reason is that it doesn’t matter how awesome your business is or how great you are at it, if you don’t have a good working concept of your TOOLS OF THE TRADE then you are holding yourself back from the levels of success that you could otherwise be attaining.
Back when I first started this newsletter I told everyone that if anybody had any particular issues they needed help with or specific subjects they wanted me to cover all they had to do was e-mail me. Well, guess what ? Nobody did !!! BUT, during the course of an average day performing my duties as the Director of Support for my Success University Team at least 25% of the questions and/or concerns that I deal with are of a technical nature. I don’t know if it’s an embarrassment issue or what the problem is but, for some unexplained reason, people would evidently rather go it alone than to break down and ask questions. Now, I’m onboard with the concept that Trial and Error is a good way to teach yourself something because you learn from your mistakes but I will GUARANTEE you this !!! Your website, your email, or anything else having to do with the internet and/or your computer is the WRONG PLACE to practice Trial and Error !!!!!!
That having been said, here is what I would like to do. I would like to start a QUESTION OF THE WEEK program. Quite simply, I would like all of you to e-mail me with any and every question you have about your computer, your website, your equipment in general or anything else having to do with this category. Then I can go through them and every week I can share the question (anonymously of course !!!) and the answer with all the other readers. It will be a good way of getting some quality information out to all of you and helping you to get to that next level of Success that much sooner.
One other area of this subject that seems to jam some people up is Terminology. Lets face it, some of the names that they have for some of this stuff even has me looking up a word or phrase here and there !!! I would like to share a link with you to a web page that I found today. It is a Glossary of Technical Terminology. It is a really good place to look up those often confusing terms. Have you ever taken a sticker off of something like maybe a bumper sticker from your car and even though you had removed the sticker that Goo Residue was left behind? Did you leave that residue there or did you get some cleaner and remove it? Well, you just hang onto that thought because it is going to be the point of reference for something that I want to talk to you about today. I have spent a lot of time thinking about the process of going from being a Negative person to being a Positive person and have come to certain conclusions pertaining to the relationship between that transition and the end result.
First, we must agree that there are various levels of Negativity and I am going to list them here as I see them:
1) First, we have COMPLETE NEGATIVITY. This level of Negativity is the most severe and the hardest to transition from. This is the classic “The World is out to get me”, “The little man can’t get ahead”, etc. scenario. Most often it stems from growing up in a Negative environment and basically being taught this way of thinking based on day to day exposure to it. On average, this is not going to be someone you want to have a business relationship with.
2) Next, we have what I call POSI-NEGATIVITY. This form is still severe but is much less detrimental to your day to day life. This is the type of person that you can eventually talk into taking a half-hearted whack at your business but they will ASSURE you from day one that they are not going to like it or do well at it.
3) Now, we have what I call NEGA-POSITIVITY. This is Negativity in it’s gentlest form but still strong enough that it is a HUGE stumbling block in the lives of people that suffer through it. This would be the otherwise Positive person that always harbors a small to moderate amount of fear and/or doubt. They would be the type of person who would leave to go to the amusement park with a forecast of sunny skies and STILL take an umbrella because “With my luck, just as sure as I don’t take it we will get rain !!!” They will embrace your business with open arms but will always hold themselves back due to having this level of Negativity in their lives.
Alright, now suppose that a person from any of these categories decided to make a change in their life. The only way to make this change is to peel away the layers of Negativity. Depending on which category this person falls into, this could be a moderate to difficult task but let’s assume that they finally accomplish this. The problem is that some people stop right there. They have good intentions by deciding to make the change in their mindset and starting a new life full of CORRECT THINKING and they are really serious about this change. But, at this point this is all just a concept to them. They have not educated themselves in this area and have not laid the foundation for this new life.
This is where Personal Development comes in. ACTION without EDUCATION is fruitless and EDUCATION without ACTION is worthless. You must marry the two together. If you just decide to become a Positive person and don’t educate yourself in the various areas of Personal Development to help strengthen your core then you are going to have great difficulty staying the course !!!
Now, think back to my example in the beginning. You have peeled away the bumper stickers of Negativity in your Life but if you don’t take the time to go back and clean off that Goo Residue through Personal Development then you will always carry a certain amount of that "Old You" with you. That is going to hinder you in everything you do from your Business Life to your Personal Life. So, when you make that commitment to peel away those layers of Negativity let Personal Development be your Goo Cleaner. Be sure to FOLLOW UP with a good CLEAN UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
